Bulgaria Economic Forum and Gabrovo Municipality Prepare an Investment Forum, Paving the Way for a Major Event in 2026

The Bulgarian Economic Forum is actively preparing a National Investment Forum, which will take place in early February 2026 in Gabrovo. The event is being organised in close partnership with Gabrovo Municipality and forms part of the activities under the NONA project, funded by the European Union.

Over the past weeks, the BEF team and the municipality have held a series of online working meetings, during which the Concept for the Forum was developed and endorsed.

The concept outlines the main objectives, thematic pillars and structure of the forthcoming event, which will focus on:

• presenting Gabrovo Municipality’s plans for promoting investment and revitalising degraded urban and industrial areas;

• discussions on sustainable, green and technological investments at the local level;

• exchange of international experience, including through the participation of experts from Spain specialising in technology parks and co-working models;

• establishing a platform for partnership between the local business community, scientific and technical institutions, and public-sector organisations.

The proposed format positions the Forum as a springboard for a significantly larger international event planned for late 2026 – with broad participation from international investors, professional expert networks and institutions, and with a strong anticipated impact on Gabrovo’s investment profile and the wider national economy.

With this first step, BEF and Gabrovo Municipality are laying the foundations for long-term cooperation to create a favourable environment for new investments, innovation, and regional development. The forthcoming forum seeks not only to present opportunities but also to activate local businesses, foster strategic partnerships and articulate a vision for sustainable economic renewal.
