On 29 October 2026, the Bulgarian Economic Forum (BEF) participated in the third Local Stakeholder Group Meeting, organised by Dobrich Municipality within the framework of the SPARK project – Smart Planning for Agile Urban Mobility Solutions.

The meeting brought together representatives of local and regional institutions, the transport sector, and experts involved in the development of sustainable urban mobility. Participants had the opportunity to exchange views and ideas on the challenges facing urban transport and the opportunities for improving transport connectivity, accessibility, and the quality of the urban environment.

A key focus of the meeting was the presentation of good practices from other European regions participating in the SPARK project. These practices provided examples of innovative approaches and solutions in the field of sustainable mobility, including improvements to public transport, promotion of environmentally friendly modes of transport, the use of intelligent transport solutions, and more effective urban mobility planning.

The discussions also explored opportunities to adapt some of the presented approaches to the local conditions and needs of Dobrich. The exchange of experience among European partners, combined with the active involvement of local stakeholders, provides an important foundation for developing practical solutions that can contribute to a more sustainable, safe, and accessible urban environment.

Regular Local Stakeholder Group Meetings are an essential component of the SPARK project. They provide a platform for dialogue among public institutions, transport operators, and experts, supporting the process of improving local urban mobility policies.

Bulgaria Economic Forum and Dobrich Municipality actively cooperate as partners in the SPARK project, contributing to the exchange of European experience and the identification of opportunities to implement successful solutions at the local level.

The SPARK – Smart Planning for Agile Urban Mobility Solutions project is implemented under the Interreg Europe Programme, co-funded by the European Union. Its main objective is to support the improvement of regional and local sustainable urban mobility policies through interregional cooperation, knowledge exchange, sharing of good practices, and the development of innovative approaches to greener and more efficient urban transport.
