On October 1 and 2, the Bulgaria Economic Forum participated in the Opening Meeting with the transfer partners of the CARE-GET project, co-financed by the European Urban Initiative. This meeting marked the first visit of transfer partners from Italy, Greece, and Lithuania to Haskovo Municipality as part of the project, allowing them to explore the innovative potential of the initiative from various local perspectives.

The opening event was attended by Maria Valcheva, the Deputy Mayor of Haskovo Municipality, and Mitko Petrov, the Deputy Regional Governor of Haskovo. Representatives from Haskovo Hospital, local primary and secondary schools, and young people who have completed their education abroad or in other Bulgarian cities were also present. These individuals have chosen to return to Haskovo to build their professional careers.

Following the opening session, guests toured the Haskovo Branch of the Thracian University of Stara Zagora, the Regional History Museum, and the beautiful Bulgarian Renaissance houses located in Old Haskovo.
The second day of the meeting focused on constructive discussions, where the transfer partners shared their contexts and motivations.

The CARE-GET project officially commenced on December 1, 2024, with a duration of 42 months, concluding on May 31, 2028.
