Telemedicine in Action: Training and Prospects in Haskovo

On May 29, 2025, a telemedicine training event was held at the Trakia University - Stara Zagora, Bulgaria in Haskovo, aimed at promoting its use. The TEPT (Telemedicine Education and Promotion Training) pilot was part of the activities of the SpinIT project, funded under the Interreg Danube Region Program 2021-2027 and co-financed by the EU.

The training program introduced students and medical professionals from Haskovo to the future of modern healthcare. Participants learned about the essence of telemedicine, exploring its numerous advantages as well as realistic limitations and challenges. The training also provided an up-to-date overview of global experience in telemedicine, highlighting its specific development in Bulgaria.

Productive discussions were held, focusing on concrete examples of clinical applications of telemedicine in various medical specialties, demonstrating its broad applicability and potential.
